CBA Privacy Statement

This Privacy Statement covers the use of the website of the Central Bank of Aruba (CBA).

The website of the CBA processes personal data in the performance of its tasks, as required by Aruban law. The CBA respects your privacy and is committed to protect personal data in accordance to Aruban law and CBA’s institutional confidentiality obligations. Specifically:

  1. It will only use your personal data for the purpose for which it is intended.
  2. It will not offer you unsolicited information or services, unless it is required by Aruban law.
  3. It will not disclose your personal data to third parties without your prior consent, unless it is required by Aruban law.

In this statement, "personal data" means "personally identifiable information": Information that can be used to distinguish or trace an individual’s identity, either alone or when combined with other personal or identifying information that is linked or linkable to an individual.

A "cookie" is a small file that is stored on your device. It can contain information such as an identifier that is used to track the pages you visit, and may contain other information that you provided. Cookies may be necessary for a site to work. They can be managed through the browser.

This privacy statement sets out the purpose for the data the CBA collects, when:

  • Browsing the CBA website.
  • Applying for a job via the CBA website.

Browsing the CBA website logs session data, including pages visited, the duration of the visit, browser type, and operating system type. Logged session data cannot be traced back to individual persons and are used only to compile visitor statistics. The CBA collects and uses these statistics solely for the purpose of evaluating and improving our website.

Applying for a job via the CBA website entails the processing of the personal data of job applicants for the purpose of recruiting and selecting new staff. The personal data the CBA collects are the applicant’s contact information, curriculum vitae, applicant letter, and other relevant document uploaded by the applicant. As a rule it retains such job application information for up to twelve months, but it can be removed earlier at the applicant's privacy request.

The CBA may publish links to external sources. Through the publishing of such links the CBA is not endorsing those websites or the companies that own or sponsor them, nor of the products or services that are offered by them. It does not review, control or monitor the privacy practices of websites operated by others, and is not responsible for the performance of websites operated by others.

This Privacy Statement does not apply to such links. Please read the privacy policy of the linked source before providing your personal data.

Privacy requests regarding the website or this Privacy Statement may be sent to privacy@cbaruba.org. Decisions on privacy requests are made solely at the absolute discretion of the CBA.

The CBA will review this Privacy Statement periodically and will change it at any time and for any reason. If any significant change to this Privacy Statement is made, the CBA will post a notice on the homepage of its website for a period of time after the change is made. This Privacy Statement was last reviewed in November 2021.
